Finally, all your great work has come together in our very all sector-wide Business Classification Scheme (BCS). From this scheme you will be able to determine the FUNCTIONS and ACTIVITIES, explain to your users through the application of SCOPE NOTES, how to correctly group information of like purpose, value and context so that they have an easy finding aid for the complete story when they have to make those important decisions. The BCS is the backbone of our record keeping system.
What is coming? Application of the Genereal Retention and Disposal Schedules will be applied to the BCS. However, this is depended on the type of TRANSACTION that are applied against the ACTION.
The BCS is a living document and we will revisit it regularly. If you beleive there is a term missing, please contact Ruth Edge r.edge@yarraranges.vic.gov.au , who will coordinate the maintenance of the BCS on behalf of the sector.
